Sunflowers @ 8 Weeks

Yup, it’s a lousy photo

Part #3 of my sunflower series.
This is one of my sunflowers after two months. I repotted it after 3 weeks. I think it should start blooming perhaps in another 6 weeks. I can’t wait. The other sunflowers at the back are perhaps a week behind in growth I think. Hopefully they all should bloom within a week of each other. No more sunflower series for the next few weeks since I’ll need to wait till mid-June before another photo comes along, hopefully the last of the greens! The photo’s quite lousy by the way with that shovel in the back!

Sunflowers @ 4 Weeks

Room to grow

Part #2 of my sunflower series.
This is one of my sunflowers, repotted after about a month. It’s not that large yet and there’s still another 10-12 weeks perhaps before it’ll eventually bloom. I can’t wait. As usual, I’ve a few quick growers and a few slow ones (this is one of the slower ones) so unfortunately, they’ll all bloom at various times and not all at one time. This one has been moved to the front of the house which I’m not sure if it gets more sun or less. I may have to move it elsewhere soon if it’s not getting enough sun!

WABLOG?

Been working on the design document for WABLOG…
What’s that? Well, it’s a photo blog feature for WebAperture patrons. Hopefully the design and functionality will be frozen by this weekend and dev will start late May or early June. So keep your fingers crossed. I’ll sneak out a few snapshots and teaser images once they’re more or less final.

Sunflowers @ 1 Week

New growth!

The start of my sunflower series.
Some will know that I’ve quite a few sunflowers growing quite nicely in my garden (despite some roof workers trying to ‘sabotage’ them with paint-stripper a month back) and I’ve been taking photos of them (of course). I’ve another batch of about 10 coming up nicely. Here’s a photo of the seedlings at one week. I’ll be posting the 4 week and 8 week photos in the coming few days but that’s about it. You’ll have to wait quite a bit longer for the 12 and 16 week photos and then, hopefully, you’ll be seeing the full bloom!

Blast from the past (almost)

Well, WebAperture turns 5 this Sunday. Here’s a photo of roughly how WA looks like in the early years. I said roughly because somehow I can’t find the screen shot of WA I made in 2001. This one’s made by switching WA back to the old classic theme. Five years is a long time. See WA Classic.
icon_ltgray_open_quoteAs the sun sets on the first 5 years of WA there has been beauty shared, a community of help and friendships developed, and a few ripples along the way, but the site is rock solid and grounded by the efforts of the dedicated administrators and the faithful members.icon_ltgray_close_quote
