Well, WebAperture turns 5 this Sunday. Here’s a photo of roughly how WA looks like in the early years. I said roughly because somehow I can’t find the screen shot of WA I made in 2001. This one’s made by switching WA back to the old classic theme. Five years is a long time. See WA Classic.
As the sun sets on the first 5 years of WA there has been beauty shared, a community of help and friendships developed, and a few ripples along the way, but the site is rock solid and grounded by the efforts of the dedicated administrators and the faithful members.

Thanks for Webaperture! It’s a really great website with good design, features and amazingly great community. Thanks for keeping it alive and user friendly.
During only 2 years I learned a LOT in photography by reading descriptions, comments and email answers from AWESOME members. I also met with great photographers and people through your site.

Once more “THANK YOU EUGENE AND JEFFREY” !!! I don’t know what I would do without WA to have a lifeline to the outside world of the Mojave desert!
This has to be the most lovely of your shots I have seen yet…Thanks for sharing your travels with all of us!

More important is to thank you for what you have created. I love WA, it is a great community of excellent and talented people. I have learned so much here, I have met so many good people bith in person and on line and via email. I spend more time on WA than any other website, I enjoy the art, the comments, the ocassional disputes, I enjoy hearing about WA members’ successes and grieve when I hear about their problems.
Happy 5th to WA and thanks to it’s creators —
