Life

Two years…
730 days, 17520 hours, 1+ million minutes;
Thousands of miles, hundreds of destinations and places;
From sea level to eleven thousand feet;
A lot of family and friends;
Birthdays, Celebrations and Funerals;
Plate-loads of food, delicious desserts and tong sui;
Moving truck-loads to planting shovel-fulls;
Shopping and buying to unloading a load of junk;
House parties to house-cleaning;
Hot pots and Chocolate fondue;
From shopping malls to waterfalls;
From one company to another, and another;
Tons of laughter and gallons of tears of love, joy and sadness;
Twenty thousand photos but a million hugs and kisses;
A lot of cheong-hei conversations but three important words;
And just ONE.
The ONE I love.

Is this time of the year again

Well, December rolls along nicely and with only about 8 days of work left, it’s hard to shake off the slow morning starts. Last minute work pours in and you just get busier always. Nevertheless, this is my favorite time of the year. Not only do you get to celebrate with family and friends and have holidays and all that, it is even more significant to realize that it is when we have been given the ultimate Christmas gift. The gift of life. While we all can argue again that the real birth of Jesus was in April and not December, still, it is and will be the ultimate Christmas gift – life and final reconcilation. Two years ago, around this date, the most wonderful and beautiful person in this world gave me the best gift any person has given me and it’s not even material.

Real life Resumes and Interviews

I wonder what they teach in school nowadays… I’ve conducted about seven interviews over the past couple of days and I don’t remember writing my first resume like this or answering interviews in this manner.
In real life resumes:

Objective section: To get a job. RM1800 expected salary. Wow! How direct?!

Languages section: Can speech average and write english, chinese and malay. Hmm, what’s speech and is there an “average” language?

Interview question #7
You say your strength is mathematics. What sort of topics did you learn or what did they teach?
“In sem one, basic maths. Then one year later, advanced maths”
Erm, what topics do they cover, you know, statistics, calculus, number theory?
“Set also got, then got advanced maths”

The price of everything

Well, it’s a melancholy Wednesday and I’m having a headache… and I’m waxing lyrical.

Everything has a price…
A piece of bread,
Or a bowl of noodles.
A simple t-shirt,
Or a designer outfit.
A simple bicycle,
Or a Mercedes Benz.
Even people have a price although some cheat by saying priceless.
But what price true love?
Because love is not priceless either.
The price of love is life.

A Wet Valentine Monday?

It’s Chinese Valentine’s day or something like that today… A wet morning that probably caused a lot of people to be late. When the chicken crowed at 6:45am and the rain still drizzling down, most people will just stay under their covers. I guess that’s the result of having too much fun over the weekend. However, I hope it stays as it is and not have unexpected things crop up…
