It’s Friday!

Dew drops on an orchid petal

It’s Friday… An unbelievable week and a crazy one at that. When I look back, the heart of the matter is simple. Life’s dreams, achievements, and happiness is one thing, but the most important thing of all is not things but the people around us. How many times have you mentioned the words “I love you” to the one you love this week? I think I’ve only done it two dozen times. How about the friends around you? Have you told them how much you appreciate them? You can have anything in this world and all your success and achievement can turn to dust. For these are all temporary things. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” ~ Matthew 6:19-21
icon_ltgray_open_quote When I say, “I love you,” it’s not because I want you or because I can’t have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I’ve seen your kindness and your strength. I’ve seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You’re a hell of a woman. icon_ltgray_close_quote

Dual-view

Wow, wow, wow.
Somehow, having two monitors, just looks damn cool. That’s my brother’s new setup btw and it does make checking email, writing up documents or spreadsheets WHILE monitoring multiple stock markets a breeze. The cost? PC Parts upgrade, RM1790, dual 17″ 1704FP LCD monitors from Dell, RM1998.

If two 17inchers look cool, how bout 2×24?

On a week full of Mondays…

It gets really tough to carry on. You know the the law of bad things, they come in three’s. Of course that’s true and as usual, people are always the problem. Attitudes, preceptions, old-ways die hard. At a time where it’s normal to love things and use people, we ought to be loving people and using things. When all hope fades and you realize that you cannot change people nor have any hope of them changing, know that the only way change to people come about is from God. So have faith and believe… Hope, Faith and Love, and the greatest of these, is Love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
So don’t wait to tell someone you love them, or you’re sorry or that they mean a lot to you… Life is short, what we leave behind is not monuments or achievements, but the lives we’ve changed or made a difference.

Fireworks and Dog antics

Maybe I should have titled this entry: Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Afterall, who’d believe that you have a dog that panics big time when a distant fire-cracker goes off but when it goes off twenty feet from him, he rushes over and body-slams it! Unfortunately, we only have the following long-exposure photo evidence for your perusal! Have fun but believe me — it’s true!

Ghost in the darkness or just Brandy?
Time to body-slam the fireworks?

What a week!

What a week! Well, technically it’s still Chinese New Year but it sort of feels like it’s ended due to the normal work week starting tomorrow and the holidays sort of ended. However, I really feel exhausted and seriously lack of sleep! Perhaps it’s the forty-degree weather or maybe it’s because of all the food and eating (something like breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, high-tea, dinner, supper and all that snacking). Oh well, the celebrations haven’t ending yet!

Basil – a wonder herb?

icon_ltgray_open_quote Basil has been known for many years as an herbal remedy for diseases of the brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, and the bladder. It is primarily a digestive and nervous system aid. Infuse basil and use it as a tea for indigestion. Inhale basil tea to relieve cold symptoms. A tonic can be made by steeping basil leaves in wine for several hours. Basil has uplifting, energizing, anti-depressant properties. icon_ltgray_close_quote
