When webservices collide…

Was checking an Amazon package I have arriving this week which I’ve been eagerly awaiting. To my surprise I noticed the DHL cargo plane landing in Ipoh! I mean I know how big Ipoh Airport is. Not very big to be precise and landing anything bigger and heavier than a 737-800 will be a challenge! Undoubtedly, that’s not the true picture so I go over to DHL’s tracking site and get my airwaybill tracked. Of course now it shows a totally different airport – Subang’s Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah which is defintely able to take most aircraft, well, at least we know a 747 Freighter will land. Someone needs to fix the webservice integration between Amazon and DHL.

Ipoh Airport???!
Much more accurate airport!

Kumans are bad for business

Taiwanese company BenQ gives up its optical disc manufacturing business to focus on financial troubles. In the light of this, BenQ may be selling off its LCD monitor division ‘due to the low margins of the business’ as stated by Commercial Times, a Chinese financial newspaper. It doesn’t look like BenQ is in the best financial shape as they had reported losses of about $185.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2005. This was the result of restructuring costs after taking over Siemens’ handset division, also according to Digitimes.com. Ever since the takeover BenQ’s revenues have dropped as much as 13% in a particular month with decreasing sales.

w/blog beta early adopter preview

I know it’s still very, very early beta build, not very stable, very rough around the edges but hey, it’s fully functional to a limited extent. Yes, there’s few features but I hope to have some time to restart the development work on it.

w/blog in action!

p.s. If you want it, you have to hold on to your horses. The early adopter program will only accept WebAperture patrons (donors) once w/blog reaches the 0.5 milestone. We’re inching towards a 0.2 at this point in time!
