However, I think changing a road for three days to a one way street is a bit too much. I mean this is a rather important road to reach a lot of people’s homes and making it a one way street so people can go to your house to pay their last respects is a bit overboard I think. I believe the late mother would agree with me.

Woke up in a daze as usual on a Monday morning. Surprising for a long weekend. Actually a long weekend is an oxymoron. The longer the weekend, the short it always will appear. How then do you explain say taking Monday to Wednesday off and then spending 3 nights on an island and yet feel like the weekend dissappeared? After ONE WEEK of celebrations and gifts :x, it’s quite usual to expect a whole day full of cleaning, packing and chores. Still have yet to clean my room! Saturday was packed, and Sunday wasn’t any different. In between clearing up heaps of old boxes, garden refuse and old stuff, you have to squeeze in a trip to buy poppy seed cakes, make three cards, and tie them nicely with ribbons, mop the floors, bathe the dogs, fix my brother’s PC, do the laundry. Oh, attend a housewarming dinner, and finally retire to bed. Oh wait, no sleeping till the sheets are changed. Darn!

After a week of celebration, dinners, and more, it’s good to laze around in bed. Things are still piling up though. Room cleaning, yard cleaning, some house repairs to do, more gardening, painting and then some. Time to rest a bit today though. Still have to find a house-warming gift plus bath the two dogs. Hmm, this weekend is going to be over before I know it.
