What is LOVE Saturday

Tann waiting for homecoming…

Love is when you have two choices, one choice will give you everything in the world, fame, riches, everything, the other choice is the woman you love and you know you don’t have to even think. You don’t love her because it is so much fun to spend time with her. You love her because she makes you whole. Why do you give up your sleep, your comfort, your needs or even your blanket and your side of the bed? How can you explain such things?

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 (The Message)
If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.
When I was an infant at my mother’s breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good. We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.

Billboard Insanity

If you had RM100,000 (US$27,000) what would you do?
Re-phrase the question: you have RM100,000 and want to convey how much you love someone and that you’re getting married.

Not a good use of $$$!

Granted telling someone how much you love them is very important but to spend RM100,000 on a bunch of billboard that last a couple of days or weeks is ridiculous. Is that the price of love? Just RM100,000? I would have given it to the National Cancer Institute or something.

icon_ltgray_open_quote Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned. icon_ltgray_close_quote

Hope, faith and miracles

icon_gray_open_quoteAgain, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. icon_gray_close_quote
~ Matther 18:19-20

icon_gray_open_quoteAsk and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! icon_gray_close_quote

It’s Friday!

Dew drops on an orchid petal

It’s Friday… An unbelievable week and a crazy one at that. When I look back, the heart of the matter is simple. Life’s dreams, achievements, and happiness is one thing, but the most important thing of all is not things but the people around us. How many times have you mentioned the words “I love you” to the one you love this week? I think I’ve only done it two dozen times. How about the friends around you? Have you told them how much you appreciate them? You can have anything in this world and all your success and achievement can turn to dust. For these are all temporary things. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” ~ Matthew 6:19-21
icon_ltgray_open_quote When I say, “I love you,” it’s not because I want you or because I can’t have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I’ve seen your kindness and your strength. I’ve seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You’re a hell of a woman. icon_ltgray_close_quote

On a week full of Mondays…

It gets really tough to carry on. You know the the law of bad things, they come in three’s. Of course that’s true and as usual, people are always the problem. Attitudes, preceptions, old-ways die hard. At a time where it’s normal to love things and use people, we ought to be loving people and using things. When all hope fades and you realize that you cannot change people nor have any hope of them changing, know that the only way change to people come about is from God. So have faith and believe… Hope, Faith and Love, and the greatest of these, is Love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
So don’t wait to tell someone you love them, or you’re sorry or that they mean a lot to you… Life is short, what we leave behind is not monuments or achievements, but the lives we’ve changed or made a difference.

First entry of 2006

As I ponder God’s goodness in 2005, I look forward with faith, hope and love for 2006. The pages of 2005 were so blessed by so many new and old people that I’ll be hard pressed to list them here… Thanks guys, gals, berries, twins, tams, JW, SW, BK, and especially to \*\*drumroll\*\* 1 like no 1, delicious driver, sweeter than honey, Magnificent, Understanding, Natural, Lovely, Exquisite, Nifty, Graceful.

As we close the chapter in this book of life, we open a new chapter. The pages are all blank, and what we write in there is entirely up to us.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2006… WOOF! WOOF! (hey, who let the dogs out?)

icon_ltgray_open_quoteLove is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrong doing. It does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres. icon_ltgray_close_quote
