China 2005 book, ink and printing…

Canon i9950Well, the layouts done, the photos are in place and the occasional comment has been typed out. It’s now a matter of finalizing and then printing it. The printing part is becoming expensive as I now add up the cost of ink. I think in the 14 months I’ve owned this printer, the ink usage has totaled over RM1600! I think it’s time to look for a printer with a lower cost of printing!!! RM1600 printed my four “photo-album” books (Burma 2003, WA 2004, Burma 2004 and now my China 2005), three dozen or so CNY cards, about seventy 4R prints, a dozen 5R prints and another 20-30 A4 pages of assorted photos (not full sized). Currently, I actually would like the Canon i9950 which is an A3 printer but it’s double the cost of the i990 which it’s probably what I’d be getting. Alternatively, the Pixma 8500 may be a good choice. I’m ruling out Epson for now because I don’t print often enough and ink nozzle clogging is something I rather not deal with.
