God is good, all the time

Sometimes, even though we do cannot see where the road is leading us, rest assured that God knows and has already planned something good for you.

So when I heard the good news that a friend has gotten her prayers answered, I was very happy for her. Sometimes, hardships and difficult circumstances are there for a reason – the reason is God wants to build you up and He will if we let him. I remember praying for this friend and always getting the analogy of the potter and the clay. But also, I remember, God knows the desires of our heart. He will in His own time reward us but He must make sure we know how to handle the good things in life with maturity.

Well, to this friend, I say congratulations and know that in this new undertaking, be courageous but remain faithful for God has more in store for you in your new place than you can even imagine because when God blesses, you’ll find that you will not be able to contain all the blessings that he can pour out.

What is Love Monday…

icon_ltgray_open_quote O let the Son of God enfold you;
with his Spirit and his Love;
O come and sing this song with gladness;
as your hearts are filled with joy,
Let Him fill your heart and satisfy your soul.
Lift your hands in sweet surrender to his name.

O let him have the things that hold you and his Spirit like a dove
O give Him all your tears and sadness, give him all your years of pain

He will descend upon your life and make you whole.
And you’ll enter into life in Jesus’ name. icon_ltgray_close_quote

When Life hangs in the balance

Cancer. The word that ranks amongst the most feared words anyone can say.
What do you do, especially when you realize how little you can do. A friend’s father, now faces this word. At times like this, I remember another friend who in the face of death and suffering didn’t flinch and lived on. That is his legacy of courage which comes from God alone. The courage to face death because it no longer has power over us.

Isaiah 53

Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.

By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
And who can speak of his descendants?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was stricken.

He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.

Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

After the suffering of his soul,
he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.

Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.

After a packed Saturday…

And now just finished mopping the floors, cleaning the backyard, re-potting four bamboo plants, and whipping up a vegetable soup for tonight’s dinner… I need a vacation!

And from today’s message, all about God’s love and how it should be the foundation of our own love.

and his wonderful deeds for men,
for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things. icon_ltgray_close_quote
